CARE FOR NEWCOMER CHILDREN WORKER (CNC WORKER 1)
(10 month position)
POSITION: Care for Newcomer Children Worker (CNC Worker 1)
LOCATION: Village Green LINC Centre, 505 Village Green Ave., London
RATE OF PAY: $22.85 - $24.19 per hour
DATE OF VACANCY: As Soon As Possible
POSITION SUMMARY: Working under the direction of the Care For Newcomer Children Lead (CNC Worker 2), the CNC Worker 1 provides quality care with a child-centred approach to infants and children participating in the centre in the Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) program whose parents are attending language-development programs on-site.
QUALIFICATIONS: At least one (1) year of a two (2) year Diploma in a child development program (preference will be given to candidates completing an ECE College Diploma or Degree program with a specialization in Early Childhood studies).
Proof of current immunizations must be provided prior to the start of the position as indicated below:
HOURS OF WORK: 27.5 hours per week, during the hours of 8:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m., Monday to Friday

- Proof that immunizations against diphtheria, tetanus, polio and pertussis are up to date, with tetanus/diphtheria (Td or dTap) received within the last 10 years and at least one dose of a pertussis containing vaccine ( dTap) received as an adult.
- Proof of 2 MMR (measles, mumps rubella) vaccines OR blood work supporting immunity. Proof of 2 varicella vaccines (chickenpox) OR blood work supporting immunity OR documentation from a physician supporting history of chickenpox.
- A 2 step TB test ( 2 TB tests 1-4 weeks apart) in the last 12 months, with documented proof of testing and results. If a 2 step has been done more than 12 months ago, you will also need proof of a single TB test within the last 12 months. If you are a positive TB reactor, please provide proof of a chest x-ray done within the last 12 months
- Annual infuenza vaccine if you will be caring for children under 24 months of age of children with chronic disease
