Salary Range: $62,454.00 - $78,067.00
Position Type: Full-time; Hybrid
Location: Sarnia or Strathroy Administration Office
Job Functions:

The Technology & Facilities Support Specialist will provide front-line IT support, help triage building-related maintenance tickets, and assist in scheduling and coordinating regular maintenance activities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow into higher level responsibilities focused on optimizing our systems and improving overall efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Front-Line IT Support:
  • Provide technical support for end users, resolving help desk tickets related to software, hardware, and system issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with IT equipment such as workstations, printers, and other devices.
  • Assist in the deployment of software updates, system patches, and application installations across multiple locations.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, including user guides, troubleshooting procedures, and support logs.
Infrastructure & Building Maintenance Support:
  • Triaging building-related maintenance help desk tickets (e.g., HVAC, lighting, plumbing, etc.) and ensuring proper follow-up.
  • Coordinate and schedule regular building maintenance tasks with third-party vendors (e.g., construction, cleaning, repair services) to ensure all work is completed on time.
  • Maintain records of building-related maintenance requests and vendor interactions, ensuring all work is properly tracked and completed.
  • Ensure that regular maintenance schedules (e.g., HVAC servicing, lighting checks, etc.) are being followed as required.
Security System Support:
  • Provide support and monitoring for security systems, including access control systems, video surveillance, and alarm systems.
  • Assist with maintaining and enforcing cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance with security protocols.
Higher-Level IT Responsibilities (Growth Potential):
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff to evaluate and test new systems, software, and tools for efficiency, performance, and security.
  • Assist with performance optimization efforts to improve IT systems' reliability and effectiveness.
  • Support various IT projects, including system upgrades, integration, and process improvements.

Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:
    • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support, including troubleshooting, help desk ticket resolution, and hardware/software support.
    • Experience coordinating with external vendors for building maintenance or facilities management is an asset.
 
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to triage and prioritize help desk tickets related to IT and building maintenance issues.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with both internal teams and external vendors.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure the timely scheduling and follow-up of maintenance tasks.
    • Familiarity with security systems (CCTV, access control) and their maintenance is preferred.
    • Highly organized, with attention to detail in managing both IT and building-related support tasks.
 
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (as travel between locations is required).
    • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for scheduled maintenance or emergency troubleshooting.
*NOTES:
  • 3 hour on call shift every Saturday morning
  • Periodic travel between branch locations is an expectation of this role
